Nowadays, meditation is frequently taught in many forms and elements of its practical methods are at the forefront of our group's practice. These include assuming an appropriate, stress-free posture, focusing attention on the body and its parts, sensing the circulation of  fine energy, receiving this energy by the means of a special breath and it’s assimilation in the body, silencing the mind or recalling a vital thought, free from association…

These methods are also taught in yoga, Zen Buddhism, and a growing number of Christian monasteries. Gurdjieff's teaching also emphasizes "remembering oneself" as essential to mediation.
